The best artist in my first grade class was a boy named Robin. I watched his technique closely and I soon realized that the key to his success was that he outlined all his drawings in vibrant colors to make the images stand out.

I know that is sort of a random comment, but that was the first thing I thought of when I saw this post.
Thanks ... I think. I've always said that first graders got it goin' on as far as art is concerned. I may be a bit taller and read fancier books than I did when I was 7, but I still do like black and white drawings outlined in bright colors.
